I Forgot. And It's Awesome.

Two years ago yesterday, I sat down in a recliner chair & received my 1st chemo.  Yesterday I was out & about with my friend, & between all of our shoppin, lunchin, bitchin about this never ending, hell-like, gawd awful heat, I totally forgot that it was the anniversary of my 1st chemo.  And it occurs to me....aside from me saying "That was the cancer fighting portion of the day..." as I took the Tamoxifen after lunch, I don't think there was any other cancer related conversation.

How awesome! Of course, you don't want to "forget"... but you do want to "forget". It's great not to have to dwell on it anymore. Of course, there will be times when you think of it... but it's great to have so much behind you now! I so wish my Mom had had that. She had a masectomy and we think the anethestic (sp) for the surgery is what triggered her Alzheimer's. Anyway... she passed away because of the Alzheimer's... not cancer. And she didn't know she had it... and she wasn't in pain. She was so young though. Breaks my heart. Sorry to ramble on... glad you're doing well!

Excellent!! And it may, indeed, mean you are moving forward. Isn't it nice to bitch about the heat instead of chemo? Forgetting a cancerversary can be a good thing indeed.
