Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now?

"This indecision's buggin' me..."

I moved away from home at 18.  It was a mistake.  I've known it was for about 15 years now.  I'm trying to correct it.  When the time is right.

Well...ok, maybe it was NOT actually a mistake, since, had I not moved away, I would have never made it to Texas, and would have never met my hubs. Which has been the BEST thing about having moved to Texas for me. (And the Mexican food...but I digress...lol!)

So, mistake or not, it HAD to happen.

And we've always said, there will come a time when we will return to my beloved Georgia. And O has always been willing to take that leap of faith with me. Right thing to do? Is it another "mistake"? We dunno... But we have been saying, for several years now, that we know a change MUST be made, but it must be at the right time.

But HOW do you know when the time is right?

I guess you just know.

I have lived in Texas for 22 (?) years. And in my current home for 12. I have lived here longer than I've lived anywhere, at the same address, ever in my whole life.

Every year, as summer approaches, we're faced with this question. Is this the year? Do we stay? Do we go?  Really, it's never been a matter of if, but when. When we will finally take the leap of faith, and move back to my beloved Savannah. Start a new life. Be close to family.

We thought last year was going to be the time to do it. But we let fear of the unknown stop us. Time and again, year after year. And now, here we are again.

But this year is different. This year, it is going to happen. Now is the time.

Vacation - Part 5: A Fish Tale

After a nice time at the beach, we headed back to get cleaned up for our last dinner in town.  And we went to a VERY awesome restaurant called Fish Tales.  Best. Shrimp. EVER.  And I think it's now one of my new fave place to go when we visit, right up there with Spanky's.  And it's like, 5 minutes from my mom's house, AND right on water, which I love.  Anyway, we had a very good dinner & some cocktails.  And the sun was setting, so I ran out to grab what I think is one of the best sunset pics ever taken by an old BlackBerry camera.  Yep.  Check it!

Was a really really nice vacation.  And we totally needed one.  But it just went by too damn fast.  There were some friends I had hoped to get together with that I didn't get to, due to losing part of our trip because of the stupid airline fiasco.  And we had also wanted to get together with the family more than the one time too, but again, time just flew.  I think next time we need to schedule to be there for at least 2 -3 more days.  I dunno.

The plane rides back home were awful.  Bumpy bumpy bumpy & had to navigate around weather, extending one of the flights by 45 minutes.

Yeah, I need to learn how to be a better flyer & try to go at least 3 times a year.  We can't wait to go back.

Vacation - Part 4: Life's A Beach!

So, our last day in town, we made it down to the beach, Tybee Island.  I loooove Tybee.  Such a fun beach community.  I totally could (wish) live there.  On the way, we spotted the famous Uncle Bubba's Oyster House restaurant.  Of course we had to stop & have lunch.  Soooooooo good! We started with the Shore Is Good Seafood Dip.  Yep.  Shore was GOOOOOD.  For lunch I had the Crab Cakes with Savannah Red Rice. O got blackened shrimp & collards.  Both also AWESOME.  Yeah, been thinkin bout it ever since.

So, after eating WAY too much, we continued on to the beach.  But again, it was just SO DAMN HOT! Unseasonably hot.  So we didn't stay very long.  But I did get to put meh feets in the water & take a few pics.

Next, the last installment in my vacation bloggin....A Fish Tale.
