This Is The End....

Of Hostess.

Good lord. Hostess is goin out of business.  And people are totally freakin the fuck out.  They're all like, WHAT???!!! No more Twinkies? Zingers? Wonder Bread? OMGOMGOMG!!!!!

I had to be the one to break the news to O.

Me: So this explains why you couldn't find Zingers in the store yesterday.
O: What?
Me: Hostess is shutting down.
O: Bullshit.  No they're not.
Me: Showin him the CNN article...Yes. They are.  Check it.
O: OH. MY. God. I canNOT believe this. *his voice growin frantic* So this is gonna be the end of Twinkies, Zingers, Ho Ho's, the Cupcakes with the curly deal on top?  This is just terrible.  It's an absolute TRAVESTY!!!!!!
Me: *runnin to the sink as I try to stop coffee from spewin out my nose*

Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! I love how he just cracks me up sometimes. =)

And just as two states have legalized marijuana....Oh the irony! LOL!  And as the "End of the World" is approachin next month.  Well played Mayans.

Ok people....I seriously doubt this is the END OF THE TWINKIE.  I'm quite certain another brand will pick it up & carry on.  So yeah, let's remember the "sage advice of the lemur".

Do they make oatmeal cream pies? Because that would be a travesty. I don't buy them often, usually when we go camping or just traveling in the car. Why I feel that I need an oatmeal cream pie then I don't know. I'm sure I could find another traveling buddy.

I don't know if they do Paula...but I know Little Debbie makes them. I also heard that Hostess is going back into Mediation...Hostess may be saved after all....

I just found out that our favorite 100% whole wheat affordable bread is involved in the mess. So no more of that brand. Merita I think it's spelled. Anyway, the hubby is not a huge fan of most 100% wheat bread so when I found this brand and it is the most reasonable priced I was thrilled. I started to notice an issue a few days ago when the store was out of it. So I bought another brand for $3. a loaf. For a loaf of bread. Merita is often on sale for $1.88. Today I ran in for bread and finally asked the stocking kid and sure enough, no more bread. :( Bought another load of $3. stuff. Came home and told Dh he better treat it like the gold it is. I could bake a loaf of bread for $.50 but he is such a bread snob he won't eat it.

And the mediation talks were not successful. But I heard Hostess is selling the recipies & stuff, so I bet you'll be able to find that bread again. Will just probably be a different brand. I'm not a big bread or sweets eater, so this issue doesn't really attect me. DH on the other hand, is utterly devastated. Lol!
